Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of round steak
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 can 14 oz of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice the round steak into serving-sized pieces.
  • Season the flour with salt and pepper, then dredge the steak in the mixture.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Brown the steak pieces on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the steak and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes and beef broth, stirring to combine.
  • Return the steak to the skillet and add Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours, until the meat is tender.
