Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, ½ cup sugar, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
  • Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  • Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the strawberries.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
