Boil water in a large pot and add a pinch of salt.
Cook spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente.
While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
Sprinkle red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
Drain the pasta and reserve a cup of pasta water.
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the shrimp.
If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water gradually.
Finish with lemon juice and Parmesan cheese, mixing well.
