Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti or linguine
  • 300 g large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Boil water in a large pot and add a pinch of salt.
  • Cook spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente.
  • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Toss in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Sprinkle red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Drain the pasta and reserve a cup of pasta water.
  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the shrimp.
  • If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water gradually.
  • Finish with lemon juice and Parmesan cheese, mixing well.
