Ingredients

  • 2 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 large onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  • Remove onions from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Pour beef broth into the skillet and add thyme.
  • Return onions to the skillet, placing them on top of pork chops.
  • Sprinkle Swiss cheese over the onions and pork chops.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
