Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tablespoons milk for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  • Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  • Pour the remaining batter on top and swirl in the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
