Increase heat and add ground beef and pork; cook until browned.
Stir in canned tomatoes and tomato paste.
Pour in red wine, bringing to a simmer.
Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add milk and season with salt and pepper; cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve over pasta or use in lasagna.
Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
