Ingredients

  • 1 tomahawk steak 2-3 pounds
  • Salt preferably kosher
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh herbs rosemary, thyme
  • Garlic cloves

Instructions

  • Remove the tomahawk steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
  • Preheat your grill to high heat (around 500°F).
  • Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub it in.
  • Place the steak on the grill and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (aim for 130°F for medium-rare).
  • Move the steak to a cooler part of the grill and continue cooking until desired doneness.

  • Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for at least 10 minutes.
