Ingredients

  • 500 g bread flour
  • 350 ml water
  • 100 g active sourdough starter
  • 10 g salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the bread flour and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the water and sourdough starter until well combined.
  • Pour the sourdough mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Add salt and olive oil, kneading until smooth (about 10 minutes).
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth.
  • Let it rise at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place it in a greased loaf pan and cover again for the second rise (1-2 hours).
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
