Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish like chives or parsley

Instructions

  • Wash and chop the cauliflower into florets.
  • Steam the cauliflower for about 10-15 minutes until tender.
  • In a separate pan, melt the butter or heat the olive oil.
  • Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Transfer the steamed cauliflower to a mixing bowl or food processor.
  • Pour in the sautéed garlic and butter/oil mixture.
  • Add heavy cream or milk to the bowl.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Blend or mash until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve warm.
