Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce tomato, and onion for toppings
  • Condiments of your choice

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions.
  • Flatten each portion into a thin patty.
  • Place a slice of cheese in the center of 4 patties.
  • Top each cheese-filled patty with another patty.
  • Seal the edges by pressing them together tightly.
  • Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  • During the last minute, cover the patties to melt the cheese.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
