Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water 110°F
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top.
  • Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add flour and salt.
  • Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Punch down the risen dough and shape into a loaf.
  • Place the loaf in a greased pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes.
