Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground pork
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 package gyoza wrappers
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Water for steaming

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, and ginger.
  • Add soy sauce and sesame oil to the mixture and mix well.
  • Place a gyoza wrapper in your palm and add about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half.
  • Crimp the edges to create pleats for a decorative finish.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the gyoza in the skillet and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately to steam.
  • Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the water evaporates and gyoza are cooked through.
  • Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
