Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • Wash the green beans thoroughly under cold water.
  • Trim the ends of the green beans using a knife or scissors.
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
  • Add the green beans to the boiling water and blanch for 3-4 minutes.
  • Drain the beans in a colander and immediately rinse with cold water.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the blanched green beans to the skillet.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Toss everything well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
