Wash the green beans thoroughly under cold water.
Trim the ends of the green beans using a knife or scissors.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
Add the green beans to the boiling water and blanch for 3-4 minutes.
Drain the beans in a colander and immediately rinse with cold water.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the blanched green beans to the skillet.
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
Toss everything well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
