Ingredients

  • 2 fish fillets cod or tilapia
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Clean the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Pour the buttermilk into another bowl.
  • Dip each fillet into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Dredge the fillet in the flour mixture, coating it thoroughly.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Carefully place the coated fillets into the pan.
  • Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the fish and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
