Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 4 drumsticks
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  • Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully place chicken in the hot oil and fry for 10-12 minutes on each side.
  • Check doneness with a meat thermometer (165°F or 75°C).
  • Remove chicken and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
