Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • Cut each slice of bread into thirds to create sticks.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  • Add sugar to the mixture and stir until dissolved.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  • Dip each bread stick in the egg mixture, coating well.
  • Place coated sticks in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess butter.
  • Repeat with remaining sticks, adding more butter as needed.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
