In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the flour; stir until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1-inch thickness.
Cut out rounds using a biscuit cutter and place on a cornmeal-dusted baking sheet.
Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat a skillet over medium heat; cook muffins for about 7 minutes on each side.
