Ingredients

  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Press the tofu for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut the tofu into cubes or slices.
  • Mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Coat each tofu piece in the cornstarch mixture.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the coated tofu pieces to the pan, ensuring they are not crowded.
  • Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the tofu and place it on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve hot with a drizzle of soy sauce or teriyaki sauce.
