Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Once chilled, scoop out tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls.
  • Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
