Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of potatoes
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: garlic herbs (like chives or parsley)

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the potatoes into uniform chunks.
  • Place the potato chunks in a pot and cover with cold water.
  • Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add butter and let it melt.
  • Pour in the heavy cream gradually while mashing.
