Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  • In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts for the topping.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle half of the topping.
  • Spread remaining batter and top with the remaining mixture.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
