Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Chocolate frosting store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 13x18 inch baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients.
  • Beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin).
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
