Marinate chicken in yogurt, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and salt for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and sauté sliced onions until golden brown.
Remove half of the onions for garnishing.
Add marinated chicken and cook until it turns white.
Stir in cumin and coriander powder.
Add cashew nuts and cook for 5 minutes.
Pour in water and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Add garam masala and adjust seasoning.
Cook for another 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
Garnish with fried onions and fresh coriander before serving.
