Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken thighs.
Place the chicken in a baking dish, skin side up.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and brush BBQ sauce generously over each thigh.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
