Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup raisins optional
  • 1/4 cup apple juice or water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Wash and core the apples, leaving the bottom intact.
  • In a bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, nuts, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Fill the hollowed apples with the mixture.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the filled apples.
  • Place the apples in a baking dish.
  • Pour apple juice or water into the bottom of the dish.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes covered, then remove foil.
  • Bake for an additional 10 minutes until apples are tender and golden.
