Ingredients

  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1/2 cup red wine optional
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, heat a little oil over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in the red wine (if using) and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Add fresh thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer for 15-20 minutes to develop flavors.
  • Strain the sauce to remove solids, if desired.
  • Serve warm over your favorite meat dishes.
